The process

HOW IT WORKS
My interior design process takes you from conception to completion which will see your home move from being an idea to reality. The process is a collaboration between the designer and the client to ensure that you are happy, things run on time and are in budget.
The full process involves points 1 - 4 listed below but I offer a service where the client can cherry pick what they want, no two jobs are the same.

INTERIOR DESIGN PROCESS & STAGES

Stage 1 - Establish the Brief and Style Direction
  • Initial meeting held to explore the scope of work and the clients requirements. What is the clients inspiration, what do you dream to achieve no matter how realistic.

Stage 2 -  Create the Concept
  • With the brief we will create the concept. The vision of the project; how does the house function, how will it feel, what is achievable.
  • Put together a collation of images to create concept mood boards, often through Pinterest.
  • Full Survey
  • Cad sketch plans - Floor plans to establish functionality and flow of the space. Make sure rooms flow harmoniously, with intelligent space planning.
  • Initial development of concept ideas with regards to wall finishes, flooring, lighting, furniture and materials to visualise the scheme

Stage 3 - Detailed Design
  • Development of the concept ideas into a complete scheme. Design detailing, sourcing and final specification.
  • Floor plans are revised and in addition elevations & sections are implemented. Site drawings are checked and confirmed prior to drawing.
  • Mood boards & samples - physical finishes and samples are presented.
  • Itemised listings of sourced items furniture, lighting, wall and floor finishes, paint colours, soft furnishings and ironmongery are provided.
  • Development and detailed designs of individual bespoke furniture items
  • 3D rendered visual sketches can also be provided at this stage.

Stage 4 - Design Implementation
  • FF&E schedule (Furniture, Fittings & Equipment) - A comprehensive budget document is produced detailing everything to be procured on behalf of our client making use of KPD trade discounts to save time and money for a client.
  • A schedule of works is produced with lead times and order status.
  • Purchasing and delivery of sourced items.
  • Regular site visits throughout the process to ensure a smooth efficient installation takes place.
  • Final styling and dressing at the end.
